Indian Hills is a community that will be developed by Taurus of Texas Holdings, LP, concurrently with Whisper Valley Ranch to the north. Indian Hills will be comprised of 239 acres and ultimately have 1,160 multi-family units and an undetermined number of single family homes.  Retail, office, light industrial and commercial space will be allocated 1.75 million square feet.

Indian Hills Location

Indian Hills is at Decker Lake Road and Texas Hwy. 130 Toll | SH 130.  SH 130 is its east boundary line and FM 973 is the west line.  Decker Creek flows along the north side.  There is no obvious boundary on the south side, but it is one mile south of Decker Creek.  Indian Hills is 2/5 of a mile wide.  Decker Lake is also known as Lake Walter E. Long.  Indian Hills is in the Austin Independent School District (AISD).

Taurus of Texas Holdings, LP is a Ft. Worth-based company and subsidiary of parent company, Taurus.  Taurus has been developing real estate worldwide since 1976 and in the U.S. since 1979.  Local partner of Taurus of Texas is Douglas Gilliland, a 25-year builder and past president of the Texas Association of Builders.  His company plans to spend between $400 and $500 million on the Indian Hills project.

  • Austin Bergstrom International Airport (ABIA) is six miles south of Indian Hills.
  • Downtown Austin and the University of Texas are ten and nine miles, respectively.
  • Employers such as Dell, Samsung Semiconductor and Applied Materials are 15-minutes drives to the northwest.
  • It borders the sprawling Lake Walter E. Long Metropolitan Park.
  • Just a few miles south of the Northeast Travis County Regional Park with its 20 soccer, baseball and softtball fields, fishing lakes and trails.
  • Luedeke Arena, home to the annual Austin Rodeo and other special events, is just two miles away NW on Decker Lake Road.
  • Riverside Golf Course and Colorado River Preserve are three miles away.
  • New John Trevino Jr. at Morrison Ranch Metropolitan Park is a mile and a half.
