From this launching spot, Austin is just a mile away via Anderson Mill Road | RM 2769 to RM 620. It also is very close to the nearest Lake Travis entry point with picnicking and boat ramp — Sandy Creek Arm — 2 miles down Volente Road.

Located within the Leander Independent School District (LISD), children from Anderson Mill West attend Cypress Elementary, located within the neighborhood, Cedar Park Middle School at Cypress Creek Road and Sun Chase Blvd. and Cedar Park High School located at Cypress Creek Road and Anderson Mill Road, which backs up to Anderson Mill West. Summit Christian Academy is also very close — across the street from CPHS. And the Cedar Park campus for Austin Community College is a few more blocks east on Cypress Creek Road.
Anderson Mill West Recreation
Lake Travis is the fun spot and the place to be. Fortunately, it is only two miles away via Volente Road. If you want something even closer, there is a very nice park right next to the Cypress Elementary, aptly called Anderson Mill West Park. It is maintained by the Municipal Utility District (MUD) and features: tennis, sand volleyball, picnic pavilion, play scape and merry-go-round, and picnic tables and grills.
There is not a public pool in the neighborhood, but they can be found in three City of Cedar Park locations. Elizabeth Milburn Park is the largest and closest. It also has the most possibilities with large competition and recreation pool, water toys, tennis, soccer, baseball, basketball, and picnic pavilion. The other two choices are Butter Cup Creek Park with tennis and the brand new Veterans Memorial Park with tennis, dog park, picnic pavilion, and veterans’ memorial.
Shopping and Dining near Anderson Mill West
With Austin just a mile away, Anderson Mill West residents are literally at the doorstep of hundreds of retail and dining locations. Closest are those one mile away at Anderson Mill Road | RM 620. From that point east all along RM 620 past Hwy. 183 to Lake Creek Pkwy., there are places to shop and dine. Lakeline Mall and Plaza are in between at Ridgeline and Pecan Park Blvd. You can also head north to the retail area at Cypress Creek Road | Lakeline Blvd.
