Sarita Valley was first permitted in late December, 2009, on 163 acres by the City of Leander as a mixed use development.  Developer was Robert D. Wunsch and his Waterstone Development company.  Current and past projects of his include Avery Ranch and Pearson Place  in Austin, Somerset Hills and Three Forks Ranch in Georgetown, La Frontera, Walsh Trails and Avery Centre on University Blvd. in Round Rock.  The October 24, 2011,  Sarita Valley plat calls for single family residences on 32.43 acres.  Grand Haven Homes and Dress Custom Homes are the homebuilders just announced Feb. 18, 2012.

Sarita Valley Location

Sarita Valley is located in the SE quadrant of the Parmer Lane | Ronald Reagan Blvd. | Williamson County Road 268 and RM 2243 intersection in north Leander.  That puts Sarita Valley 2.4 miles east of Hwy. 183, 1.75 miles from Hwy. 183A Toll and 2.3 miles from the Cap Metrorail Leander station.  It is bounded on the east by Williamson County Road 175, the south by East Crystal Falls Pkwy., and the north by the San Gabriel River.

Sarita Valley Amenities

The full plan has not been rolled out yet for Sarita Valley.  But current plans call for a high tower at the entrance for aesthetics.  The community will have a hike and bike trail of just more than a half mile in length and an Amenity Center with pavilion.  Other Amenity Center features are yet to be determined.

Sarita Valley Homebuilders

Sarita Valley homes will be built by Grand Haven Homes and Drees Custom Homes, notable builders in the Austin area.  Currently Grand Haven Homes is building homes in Avalon in Pflugerville; Behrens Ranch, Paloma Lake, and Enclave at Mayfield Ranch in Round Rock; Pearson Place at Avery Ranch, and Avery Station in Austin; Rough Hollow in Lakeway; Estates of The Ranch at Brushy Creek, and Enclave at Silver Oak in Cedar Park; and Cap Rock at Crystal Falls in Leander.  Grand Haven Homes base price is generally between $160′s and $350′s,varying due to floor plan, square footage and community dissimilarities.  Drees is building Georgetown’s new Estrella Crossing, The Highlands at Crystal Falls in Leander, The Ranch at Brushy Creek in Cedar Park, Paloma Lake in Round Rock, Santaluz at Steiner Ranch in Austin, Emerald Ridge also in Steiner Ranch, Laurel Canyon in Steiner Ranch, Falconhead West in Bee Cave, Rocky Creek in Bee Cave and Sawyer Ranch west of Oak Hill on Hwy. 290.

Sarita Valley Schools

Sarita Valley is located inside the Leander Independent School District (LISD).  Boundary maps can change from one school year to the next, so always check the current maps.  Current maps show that children from Sarita Valley would attend Pleasant Hill Elementary School, Wiley Middle School, and Rouse High School.  Pleasant Hill is furthest from Sarita Valley at 2.75 miles.  The other two are 1.25 miles away.

The LISD has purchased a lot of land across the San Gabriel River for a future all-in-one campus.  It will have a new elementary school, new middle school, and new high school.  No dates have been given for construction of this campus.

There are preschools not far away in Leander, Cedar Park and Round Rock.  Cedar Park and Round Rock also have private K-12 schools.  The nearest Austin Community College campus is in Cedar Park.  The near side of Round Rock has a Texas A&M campus, Austin Community College campus and Seton Hospital Teaching campus.  Austin has the Univ. of Texas and many other preschool, private and other secondary education opportunities.
